I was born in 1985 in Hamilton New Zealand. I grew up in Hamilton, Horotiu and
Ngāruawāhia. I studied at Ngāruawāhia High School (1998-2002) where my passion for art was
discovered. During this time at High School I had success in many of my Art subjects and in my final year
won a $6500 scholarship to complete a National Certificate of Multimedia.
On completion of this National Certificate of Multimedia in 2003 I was accepted into the Elam School of Fine Arts at the University of Auckland were I gained a Bachelor of Fine Arts. In 2008 I continued studies at the University of Auckland and went on to complete a Graduate Diploma of Secondary Teaching, specialising in Art and Art History.
I started my first teaching role at Rosehill College in Papakura teaching junior Art and senior Design. Once my one year, long term relieving contract was over at Rosehill I secured a permanent position at Manurewa High School, teaching Art and Art History. After four years at Manurewa High I took the opportunity to join the Aorere College Art department as the Head of Department in 2014. I am still currently in this role.
Once I started teaching I found it difficult to continue with my own work and found I was still experimenting and unsure of my own practice. I set up this website to document my practice, my journey through my art and the different media I use to express my creativity.
